Electric fireplaces make any room look modern and inviting. Electric fireplaces are efficient and convenient, no chimney or flue is required which makes these fireplaces ideal for any room. Unlike other types of fireplaces, all you need to do is simply plug in and you are done. Other fireplace types can be more appealing with real flames but modern advances in electric fireplaces can and do provide very effective and realistic artificial flames without the hassels and mess that gas and solid fuel fireplaces may bring.

- 1 Choose your fireplace design.
- This is the only real decision to be made. Electric fireplaces are made in many designs, sizes and materials. There are electric fireplaces that resemble wood stoves, Antique fireplaces, modern and contemporary shapes, as well as models constructed from Limestone, Wood, Plaster and Marble.
- 2 Measure for your new fireplace
- Decide where you would like to put your fireplace, ensure that the width, height and depth are suited to the location. If you are limited in space, you can have a custom fireplace made to your own specific sizes.
- 3 Choose how powerful your fireplace should be
- Small rooms will only need a low wattage fire, whilst larger room may need a fireplace that has a greater heat output. Many of the modern fireplaces have settings and switches that allow you to increase or decrease the ammount of heat that is produced.
- 4 Look for additional options within your Electric fireplace
- Electric fireplaces can come with additional features that enhance how the fireplace looks. Some fireplaces include additional features as standard, whilst others have options that are additional extras which you may need to purchase seperately. Below are a few options that may or may not come supplied withyour fireplace, please ensure you read all about the fireplace you choose to ensure you know what you are getting.

- Remote control, this allows you to switch your fireplace on/off, or turn up or down the heat remotely
